Velocity Lose First Game of Season Splitting Double Header with Corning
Game 2 of the doubleheader would see the teams swap home and away. Corning would come back from a 6-3 deficit highlighted by a 10 run sixth innings to earn the split by a score of 16-6.
Game Highlights:

AJ McIntyre would once again provide offense in the game, going 2-4 with a double and an RBI.

Kalli Meyer contributed with a 2-3 performance. The lefty leadoff hitting had two triples, a walk and three runs scored.
Inning Breakdown:

Top of the 1st: Corning would jump out to a 3-0 advantage in the opening frame. The Red Barons would open the game with a walk, a double and two singles to plate two runs. They would add one more on a steal of home.

Bottom of the 1st: Velocity would answer back with one run in the bottom of the first. Addison Van Lare would hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Kalli Meyer who opened the game drawing a walk.

Bottom of the 2nd: The Velocity would jump into the lead with a four run inning. An RBI groundout by Lily Heim would score the first run. An RBI triple by Kalli Meyer would drive in the second run. After a Red Baron error scored the third run, AJ McIntyre would put an end to the scoring by crushing a line drive double to center field, driving in the fourth run of the inning.

Bottom of the 4th: Velocity would add one more run in the inning on a AJ McIntyre single.

Top of the 5th: Corning would tie the game at six with a three run burst. The Red Barons would use a walk and three hits to plate the runs.

Top of the 6th: Corning breaks open the game with a 10 run inning. The Red Barons had 11 hits in the inning, including a home run.

Analia Baker took the loss for the Velocity. The right hander pitched five and one third innings, giving up 15 runs (15 earned) and 15 hits. She walked two batters and struck out one.
